I have now retired from breeding kittens but I am still working with my daughter-in-law Michelle of Micatta Maine Coons who will continue to have kittens available from time to time.
I still attend many GCCF shows with Michelle who has several of my Jakatta kittens.
Jakatta Linus Van Pelt – owned by Michelle of Micatta Maine Coons and soon to be her new stud boy. Very proud that he is the GCCF Section 2 (Semi Long-Hair) top kitten for this year. GCCF.
Kittens are on the way – after a long break with no kittens we have a couple of litters due in the next couple of months.
Jakatta Jaina Proudmoore x Fb Fluffyandbald Ormai (Harry) are due kittens on the 1st of November. It is a first litter for both of them and at the moment Jaina is looking huge.
Kittens will all be dilute colours and could be any of the following:
Blue Smoke, Blue, Blue Tabby & Blue Silver Tabby
Blue Tortie Tabby, Blue Silver Tortie Tabby, Blue Tortie and Blue Tortie Smoke
Cream Tabby, Cream Silver Tabby and Cream Smoke
Jakatta Arwen Evenstar x FB Fluffyandbald Orami (Harry) are due kittens at the beginning of December. All these kittens will be either solid black or black smoke.
I will add more details soon but just to update the recent progress on health testing:
Micatta Moriana Dawnlight (Rainbow) has had her heart scan and all OK.
Fbfluffyandbald Orami (Harry), Jakatta Jaine Proudmoore, Jakatta Arwen Evenstar and Jakatta Moiraine Damodred have all been DNA tests and are all clear.
Sorry its been quite a while but I will try and get back to regular updates. Rainbow and her kittens were all very ill for a while and we lost one of the little babies. For many weeks it was very hard work to keep them going but I am pleased to say all are well now and apart from Ginny have all left home or will do very soon.
Ginny was the smallest and took longer to recover, hopefully she will be neutered in the new few weeks and we will look for a home for her.
My two oldest cats have been to the Cambridge University Veterinary Hospital for a HCM heart scan as part of a screening process. Pleased to announce that both are clear of HCM at the moment. The recommendation is that although they have structurally and functionally normal hearts HCM may still develop and they recommend yearly echocardiographic exams of our breeding cats. Both are also DNA clear for HCM.
I have sent of the DNA kits for Jakatta Arwen, Jakatta Jaina Proudmoore and Jakatta Moiraine Damodred our next generation of kittens.
Micatta Morianna Dawnlight (owned and bred by Michelle but living here with me) is expecting kittens in March. Jakatta Idris who has now been neutered and is living with a lovely family as a pet is the father to be.
Jakatta Arwen Evenstar and Jakatta Moiraine Damodred both staying here and being joined by Jakatta Jaina Proudmoore.
Its a busy month with Helly’s and Lyria’s kittens both having their first vaccinations and visit’s from their prospective owners. Also retiring both Lyria and Idirs who I have decided is not my future stud cat and replacement for Gus. All have potential new homes. Next month Alleria’s kittens start their vaccinations and the neutering of the older kittens starts.
Sorry I have not been very good at updating the news.
Its been another very busy Christmas period as once again most of the girls decided they wanted to have kittens at the same time.
Helly had 4 kittens at the beginning of November, Lyria had 3 kittens 2 weeks later and Alleria had 5 kittens at the beginning of December. Only Rainbow left to have kittens this year!
All kittens are now provisionally reserved (although my daughter-in-law Michelle of Micatta Maine Coons has a couple of boys and a girl kitten still available – I will post pictures below).
Both Lyria and Helly will retire as they didn’t get on. Lyria has been neutered and once she recovers I will find her a nice pet home as she is just over a year old. Helly is now 5 and will retire here.
Gus has also now been neutered but again will hopefully retire here and his (& Helly’s) son Idris will hopefully take over this year. He is just a year old at the moment so no rush.
Gus is due to retire at the end of this week but we have a number of litters due from him.
Helly, Lyria and Alleria should all be expecting between November/December and Michelle has kittens due from Millie/Phoenix and also Susie is expecting kittens from Titan (her boy).
I think a lot of Silver Tabbies and maybe Brown Tabby, Red Tabby. Tortie Tabbie, Black Smoke but also the possibility of blue and solid colours.
Finally the girls have started calling again after a nice long break. Helly has been out to visit Gus who will shortly be retiring and Lyria is out with Gus at the moment. Alleria still not ready for kittens again but hopefully shortly.
Gus will be neutered some time in the next couple of months and his son Idris will take over. Helly will also retire after her next litter of kittens.
Hopefully some kittens at the end of October for Helly and Lyria maybe in November.
My daughter-in-law Michelle of Micatta Maine Coons also has a couple of litters due at the end of October from Susie and Millie.

No girls calling, they are all just enjoying the relative peace and quiet.
All vaccinations, DNA tests etc. done and everything is ready just waiting for the girls.
